The Boy Who Held On: The true story of 10 year old Major Metzger

What would you do if someone beside you suddenly fell from a ski lift?

Major Metzger was ten years old when he found out.

On 26 January 2025, Major was skiing with his family and friends in Virginia, USA. He was sitting on a chairlift with six-year-old Bryce Rader and two other children.

As the chairlift climbed the mountain, Bryce began to slip...

The Boy Who Held On tells the true story of what happened on that ski lift — from a normal day of skiing to a terrifying few minutes high above the mountain.

And it is the story of one ten-year-old boy who saw that his friend needed help.
